RANTOUL, Ill. (WCIA) — A Champaign man was indicted by a federal grand jury after a robbery of a credit union earlier this summer.

The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Central District of Illinois announced a federal grand jury indicted 41-year-old Troy Burke Tuesday for robbing the Community Plus Federal Credit Union in Rantoul back in June. Burke was previously charged by the Champaign County State’s Attorney with aggravated robbery and financial institution robbery according to Champaign County court records.

Burke robbed the credit union on the afternoon of June 20. Bank employees said while he did not show any weapon, he implied he had one. When apprehended by police, Burke was found to have a large amount of cash in possession.
