One dead in crash on IL 121 near Sullivan



UPDATE: Illinois State Police tell WCIA that they were called to the scene this morning after a fatal crash.

Moultrie County Sheriff’s Office initially responded to the scene and then requested Illinois State Police to investigate the collision.

The crash happened shortly before 2:30 a.m. and involved a Ford pickup and a Ford sedan. The two vehicles collided head-on, the report stated.

One driver was declared deceased. The other driver was transported to an area hospital with injuries.

Illinois 121 continues to be closed near the Kaskaskia River bridge. Traffic should avoid the area due to this crash.

SULLIVAN, Ill. (WCIA) – A highway in Moultrie County is closed this morning due to a crash and a subsequent investigation.

It happened on Route 121 at County Road 1150 N Road, according to Illinois State Police.

That is near the Kaskaskia River Bridge, between Sullivan and Allenville.

Illinois State Police say the road will be closed for an undetermined amount of time for the crash investigation.
