One hurt after Monday shooting in Decatur



DECATUR, Ill. (WCIA) — One person is hurt after a shooting in Decatur on Monday morning.

The Decatur Police Department said it happened at 8:40 a.m. in the area of East Leafland Avenue and North Illinois Street. One man was grazed in the left shoulder by gunfire and was taken to the hospital, though officials said the wound was non-life-threatening. Authorities added that another individual was also involved in the incident but did not get hurt.

A large police presence was reported in the area while officers canvassed the area and began their preliminary investigation. The scene has since been cleared.
