PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) — There will be additional downpours on Thursday and the potential for severe storms on Friday as we track the remnants of Debby.
AccuWeather: Remnants of Debby to bring heavy rain, possible tornado
FRIDAY: The remnants of Debby lift north along the Appalachians. The heaviest rainfall will occur west of our area but we’ll still have some downpours to deal with.
The morning will be mainly dry, but then a band of strong storms will move through during the afternoon and evening.
Temperatures will still run below average, high 83. We’ve issued an AccuWeather Alert for impacts this day.
Rainfall: The I-95 corridor and areas northwest have the potential to see 2-4″ of rain. Locations south/east of I-95 are looking at 1-2″.
Winds: Strong winds develop out of the south/southeast. The worst of the winds will be at the coast with 45-55mph gusts. Inland areas have the potential of 35-45mph gusts. With a saturated ground in many locations, this could lead to trees being blown over and localized power outages.
Severe Weather: There will be more spin in the atmosphere east of the track of Debby’s remnants. A brief tornado or two can’t be ruled out.
SATURDAY: It’s breezy, but we’re drying out with the return of some sun and lower humidity, high 85.
SUNDAY: A pleasant end to the weekend with partly sunny skies, high 83.
MONDAY: It stays nice with sunshine and a high of 82.
TUESDAY: Sun, few clouds, high 83.
WEDNESDAY: Mostly sunny and a bit warmer. High 85.
THURSDAY: Warm and sunny still. High in the mid-80s.
