SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (WCIA) — The Springfield Police Department is investigating a shooting that happened on Sunday.
Sara Pickford, Deputy Chief of Criminal Investigations, confirmed to WCIA that someone was hit by gunfire near South 11th and East Laurel Streets. She added that there is no threat to the public.
Pickford said more details regarding the incident will be shared in the near future.
