WATSEKA, Ill. (WCIA) — One person was sent to the hospital after a propane truck ended up in a ditch in Watseka.
The rollover accident happened just before 10:30 a.m. Monday on South Belmont Avenue near Legion Park. When the Watseka Fire Department arrived at the scene, they found a Hicksgas propane truck rolled over on its side in the road’s east ditch.
Officials said the truck driver was already out of the damaged truck and had secured all valves by the time first responders arrived. Riverside EMS took the driver to the hospital while firefighters kept an eye out for leaking propane. The Watseka Police Department, the Iroquois County Sheriff’s Office, and Iroquois County EMA also assisted at the scene.
A tow company soon arrived to remove the vehicle. No HAZMAT release occurred. The scene was cleared by 1:30 p.m.
The Watseka Fire Department said the cause behind the accident is still undetermined.
